We left South Pass City and are on the Road. To Lander.

Sleeping Bear Campground in Lander, Wyoming

Our home for the next couple of days- Sleeping Bear Campground in Lander, Wy. Our trailer is way back there in the distance.

We woke up and had a leisurely morning for a travel day. We are scheduled to spend two days in Lander.

The morning was chilly, but clear. It was nice weather to break down "camp." On and off during the morning I would attend to this or that task, so that by noon, we were ready to get serious. I had put off airing up the tires until we had the trailer ready to go. so we did that and finished preparations. Surprisingly, all went well! We had been parked in this space since May, so I always expect last minute drama. Nope.

We hooked up the truck and stopped by the office to say good bye. No one was around, so we walked into town and found most of the staff in the hotel restaurant. We said our goodbyes and off we went. To Lander and arrived at the Sleeping Bear RV park- we love this place. We always stay a couple of days here, then move on.

Set up in Lander went smoothly, we got the water, power, and Starlink set up and then relaxed.

I ran down to Safeway to buy a couple of items and came back and started dinner. Afterwards we both read and diddled on the computer. We will havc dinner with Glen and Jeanie tomorrow, but we are kind of decompressing. More road noise here. In SPC we are only 2.5 miles or so from the highway, but we are 200 ft lower in a valley, so we rarely heard road noise. I am not saying it it noisy here, but it was really quiet in in SPC.

So we read, relaxed, and adjusted.

On the way out of South Pass City, we saw a herd of about 15, maybe more, pronghorn antelope. Connie saw a buck laying down as we passed the Atlantic City Iron Mine. I missed it- kind of driving and all. We saw two smaller herds 15-20 or some coming into Lander. In the evening, once set up, we say six mule deer come through the campground. We almost always see deer here. They come down from the hills to the west and browse.

Thirty-three miles down, 892 to go.
