More School Tours- the Beginning of the Final Week
We got up at 6:00, our usual time. Connie started coffee while I looked at the news. Then I got up and made breakfast: breakfast tacos. Connie did the dishes and off we went.
Today's tour didn't arrive until around 10:30. They had a short turnaround time, so it was all rush. Half of the students went up to the Carissa and half stayed in town. Those in town were divided into four groups, which then rotated between the Smith Sherlock Company Store (my station), gold panning with Curtis, the Miner's Exchange Saloon (Gator), and the gift shop. Once this rotation was finished the group from the Carissa came down and we repeated the process. Telling the same basic story eight times with out even a few minutes pause is wearying. The kids were, for the most part, really good and fun to work with,
I worked in the archives before and after the tours, taking a break for lunch around 2:00 PM.
Connie came home after the tours wrapped up and I came back about 5:00. We had dinner and read and worked on our different projects.
A pretty simple day and, for the first time in a month, I don't have some kind of presentation, etc. hanging over my head. So relaxing!
