An Early School Tour?
We got up, as always, me a little more slowly than Connie. She gets up and starts coffee. I'm not doing anything without that! We still had a little bit of our smoked salmon left, so once again smoked salmon and cream cheese omelettes. Camping in a trailer is tough!
Today's tour arrived early! As we were waiting for the students to come up, the teachers indicated they planned to arrive early and hoped it was ok. Heck yeah! Usually we begin finishing activities and wait for the tours, which often come late, leading to dead time. With an early start, we were done by a little after 10 AM.
I had the Smith Sherlock Company Store today and mixed things up a bit. I had not been able to play my breakfast pricing game lately, but replaced a bit of story history with the game. This went over well and I think the kids had a good time.
After the tour, I went into the archives, did a little research and worked on ghost stories. I am going to be so glad to have this in the rear view mirror. I like the stories but want to really entertain the guests tomorrow. We'll see.
We got back to the trailer and I booked a room in the Irma Hotel in Cody for Saturday and Sunday. I've been wanting to get up to Cody, one of my favorite cities in Wyoming, so here's the chance. We likely will do a big drive through Yellowstone on Sunday to see wildlife- I suspect mostly bison, but I'll take it.
It is Taco Thursday at the Miner's Grubstake, so that will be dinner. We had dinner and a couple of drinks and visited with a few people we have met this summer. The Grubstake will close Sunday afternoon for two weeks, so this was our last evening visit here. We plan to stop for breakfast on the way out of town on Saturday and they will be closed for the rest of our stay. We haven't finalized a departure date, but somewhere around the 15th looks likely.
We saw nine pronghorn antelope on the way to Atlantic City and eight on the way back. The eight were right where we had seen them on the way out!
A good evening. Connie knitted and I read before bed.
