A Relaxed Cold, Rainy Day

I slept in a bit today- it was dark outside and rained intermittently. A high of 55, or so, was predicted today, but we sit at the bottom of a small valley and get the coldest air. Our temperature gauge registered a high of 48.

I fried bacon and eggs for breakfast and, for the first time on this trip, broke out the toaster oven. Eggs, bacon, and toasted English muffins, a nice start to the day. We stayed inside most of the day because of the rain and wind. Around 2:00 we pad a period of clear skies and actually saw items outdoors throwing shadows. We took advantage of this and finished loading the back of the truck. We have a few small items to put in the camper shell, but the hard work is done.

In the afternoon, Connie got the bread maker out and baked a loaf of bread. The heat it produced was welcome! I read and did some research on Buffalo Bill Cody. I have heard a few tales about him, but there are wild things. None of the really interesting stories were mentioned in the ghost tour we took last week, which I think reflects the search strategy used to find stories and tales. I conducted research for most of my adult life and have developed a knack for finding obscure information. While I was engaged in these activities, Connie worked on her various projects.

For dinner, I fried some chicken thighs and made a mushroom and onion gravy to go with them.

After dinner, reading, podcasts, and a few computer games.

A light snow is predicted for the next two evenings. Tomorrow, I will look at this and then make reservations for an RV sites in Lander for a couple of nights and also for the first two nights on the way home. We had thought about staying in Casper for a couple of nights, but will now head straight back home. From Lander, the trip should take four days (three nights),
