School Tours in the Smith Sherlock Company Store. What, again?
I worked a bit in the archives in the early morning and then, we had two bus loads of fourth-graders from Pinedale arrive. I walked down to the Smith Sherlock Company Store and girded my loins.
The kids were great, I have altered my "presentation" this year and have stopped letting them talk on the old timey phone. It takes too much time and there is too much confusion. I was asked by one group if the store was haunted. Well, they asked the one guy who specializes in South Pass City ghosts stories and I delivered- this was fun.
As part of my "new" presentation, I have re-imagined a game I developed a couple of years ago. The kids (and teachers) seem to enjoy it. I'll take photographs of the game "pieces" and post them tomorrow.
The tours went well, but they were back to back without break. Telling the same story eight times in row gets a bit old. Luckily I get to do this again tomorrow and the next day and the next day (supposed to me my day off, but...)
I am an introvert and was mentally done for the day. I ate lunch did some light work and then came home. All of the cooking and food prep yesterday paid off! An easy dinner.
I watched a few podcasts, drank a couple of glasses of wine and then wound down for the evening.
