I Gave My Lovejoy Talk- So that's done now!

Erwin Store, formerly a butcher shop, now a gallery of historic photographs and the venue for my presentation today.

We got up this morning and had breakfast and coffee. I then went down to the office/archives to review my presentation and make a few last minute changes. That has always been my lecture preparation method. I know by now what I want to say and just tinker with minor details.

At 10:00 I set up the projector, computer, etc., to make sure everything is working together. Yes. So, then I carried the computer and projector to the Erwin Store, where my presentation is to be given, and set things up.

Now, the part of a lecture I don't like. The dead time before the talk starts.  Then, Showtime!

I planned to speak 45 minutes and went 47, pretty good. There audience was small, maybe 20 people, but attentive. Certainly, more so than the fourth graders I've talked with all week. I had a couple of good conversations after the talk and, as I hoped, gathered a little new information.

After the dust centered, Connie and I (mostly me) decided we should head to the Miner's Grubstake for lunch and a couple of beers.

We got back to the trailer and Connie went down to the Gift Shop looking for something sweet for dessert and to talk with whoever is in the shop- I tease her about a Snak and Yak.

I took a short nap- I woke up really early- and then read, watched a couple of podcasts, and followed, online, a couple of college football games. After dinner, relaxation and reading. A quiet day.
