Beginning of My last Weekend in the Miner's Exchange Saloon
We got up this morning made coffee and breakfast and then I went down to the shop- Connie trailed behind a bit later. I met up with Gator and took root beer, birch beer, and cream soda over to the Miner’s Exchange Saloon. I worked in the archives until noon and then left to open the saloon.
It was a really slow day. I brought my computer and worked on my Lovejoy presentation. In the early afternoon, I looked up and saw some cows walking down a hill at the end of town- another hole in the fence. As dumb as they are, they are expert at finding weak points in fences.
I had 12 visitors stop in today and two of those were people that stepped in and got back out as soon as possible. There may not be as many artifacts in the saloon as in some other buildings, but this is a good place to talk and learn about the town and its history.
Among the 12 visitors, were three CDT hikers. I had a nice long conversation with one of them. Hikers usually just pass quickly through town, so this was a nice change.
I sold to bottles of pop and closed up at 4:00. My stomach wasn’t feeling good, so I ate dinner, relaxed, and went to bed a bit early.
