A small School Tour and an Afternoon in the Archives

We got up and about, a little late this morning. Well, Connie was up, but I lagged behind. It will be a slow morning. We have a tour coming in from Casper. They are schedule for around 9:30, but it is likely they will arrive later. They did.

We got the students divided into four groups and then began our "tours." Once again, I am in the Smith Sherlock Company Store. Gator and I discussed mixing it up, Saloon for Store, but right now we are in a groove in our respective sites.

The kids were pretty good. There was one that could have been better behaved (an intentional understatement) and, of course, the teacher was just on field-trip mode. Anyway, the tours went smoothly and I actually got some positive feedback from on of the teachers. They occasionally will say something to Joe, the site superintendent, but this was a first this year. I am fine without the attaboys, but have changed up my presentation to try to align it with curriculum goals, as I understand them.

Tours done, it was back to the archives where I ate lunch and worked on various projects. We had a short staff meeting at 3:15. Joe Ellis the site superintendent has, in the past few years, accepted some of the less demonstrably proven stories, such as that of Polly Bartlett, who supposedly murdered 22-24 men and was then shot to death in the South Pass (Sweetwater County) jail.  At the meeting, I informed him that one of my stories built on, and extended, the Polly Bartlett story. Hey, you asked me to preform....

After the meeting we went home. I had made a Hungarian goulash for dinner yesterday and there was plenty to reheat for dinner. We have tomorrow off, so I read a bit and went to bed way early- trying to catch up on my sleep deficit.
