A School Tour and an Afternoon in the Archives
The morning was really nice, clear skies and sunny, but there was a cool breeze, which made a sweatshirt welcome.
We had a small school tour into day. They arrived around 9:30, so we were at it by 10:00. I hosted the kids in the Smith Sherlock Company Store, as usual. The kids were good and everything went smoothly.
After visiting the town, the 4th graders went up to the Carissa mine and mill and I went into the archives for the rest of the day.
After lunch I went back down to the Smith Sherlock Company Store to retrieve my walkie talkie. I had forgotten to grab it when I finished my tours this morning. While I was there, I took a few photographs in side the store and a few of various buildings in town.
At 4:00 we returned to the trailer and I read a bit before starting supper- I reheated a couple of ears of corn and some of the salmon I smoked yesterday. A quick and easy dinner. Also delicious.
After dinner, I read and did a little work on my various projects.
